The Salvation Army of Kerr County began as a service unit in 1967, and due to growth in need for service and the addition of community programs, it became a Corps in 1987 and moved into its current location at 855 Hays Street.
Over the past 20 years the programs and services have continued to expand to meet the needs within the community. In 2010, The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center opened and allowed The Salvation Army in Kerrville an opportunity to provide new and expanded programs and services which allow it to serve a more diverse population within the community.
Current Services Offered:
Atmos Gas Bill and Rental Assistance: Submit your assistance request online at SAhelp.org, or to set up an appointment please contact the office on Tuesday or Thursday from 8:30am-12:30pm & 1:30-4:30pm. Any assistance should be requested before 4:00pm.
Clothing Vouchers
Dental Clinic (only extractions) per appointment. Every other Wednesday.

Food Distribution
When: Every Monday (except holidays)
Time: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Farmers Market
When: First Thursday of each month
Time: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Commodities Distribution
When: Second Thursday of each month
Time: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Dental Clinic
When: Every other Wednesday
Appointments: By appointment only
Availability: Currently booked through October. If you have a severe dental issue, you may be placed on the cancellation list if an appointment becomes available.
Clothing Vouchers
When: Monday through Friday
Time: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
