Check out this list of opportunities awaiting you at the Kroc Center. Your work here will benefit The Salvation Army and the many people it serves.

VOLUNTEER YOUR TIME OR SHARE YOUR STORY

  • Sports League Coaches and Referees

    Coach youth teams or referee youth/adult games . Requires a general knowledge of specific sport, and background check.
    Dates: Vary by specific sports league

  • Boys & Girls Club Mentors

    Mentor young men and women in the Kroc’s After-School program. Requires background check.
    Dates: Ongoing, once a week for four months

  • Nightly Meals served at The Salvation Army Shelter

    Help with serving and clean up.
    Dates: Ongoing, nightly starting at 6:15 pm

  • Family Grocery Bags at The Salvation Army Shelter

    Help with preparation, handout, and clean up.
    Dates: Ongoing, 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month, 9-12 pm

  • Family Store

    Assist with sorting donations as received.
    Dates: Ongoing

  • EASTER EGGSTRAVAGANZA

    Supervise bounce houses, serve as a face painter, help with arts & crafts projects, and cheer on carnival games, plus help stuff 25,000+ plastic Easter Eggs for the two Egg Hunts
    Date: Saturday, April 20, 10-1pm

  • Circle of Service

    Dinner and Night of Entertainment benefitting The Salvation Army in Kerrville
    Set-up, tear down, servers, platers, clear tables and plates, dishwashers
    Date: Thursday, May 16

  • Back to School Bash

    Supervise bounce houses, serve as a face painter, help with arts & crafts projects, and cheer on carnival games
    Date: Saturday, Aug. 3, 10 am-1pm

  • Pumpkin Run

    Assist in event setup, cheer on runners, operate a water station on the route, or pass out water and fruit to those completing our 5k and 10k Pumpkin Run.
    Date: Saturday, Oct.26, 7-9:30 am

  • Harvest Festival

    Supervise bounce houses, serve as a face painter, help with arts & crafts projects, and cheer on carnival games.
    Date: Saturday, Oct. 26, 9 am-12:30 pm

  • Community Thanksgiving

    Assist in feeding those in the community on Thanksgiving Day. A traditional Thanksgiving meal is served to those traveling, individuals who are homebound, and at the Kroc Center. Drivers are needed to assist in home meal delivery, road-side serving, and Kroc Center serving.
    Date: Thursday, Nov. 28

  • Christmas at the Kroc

    Supervise bounce houses, serve as a face painter, help with arts & crafts projects, cheer on carnival games, and help spread Christmas cheer.
    Date: Saturday, Dec.14, 10 am-1 pm

  • Red Kettle Bell Ringer

    Help support The Salvation Army and be a bell ringer for a day, weekend, or the season. Through the Red Kettle, The Salvation Army is able to continue its social service programs in the area. That’s right, the funds stay local. Challenge your co-workers, friends, and social groups to see who can raise the most .
    Dates: Nov. 8 -Dec. 24, Monday-Saturday

Are you among the Kerrville community members that has been impacted by The Kroc Center? Amazing things take place everyday at The Kroc, and we want to hear about it.

Your stories help inform our community about all of the life changing things that are happening at The Kroc Center, and will help ensure that everyone in need is able to receive a scholarship, that children in need will be provided with warm winter clothing, that emergency assistance can be supplied to local families, and more.
